This week's Music Monday is "Warrior" by Disturbed.
I picked this song for a few reasons.
This weekend my wife came to me with an idea her best friend from college came up with: she wanted to do the Warrior Dash. I had thought about doing it before but never really got too serious about it. We decided we wanted to do it and signed the three of us up.
While I was at it, it was time to register for the MRTC Road Race Series. I talked Staci into doing it again this year. We did it last year and had lots of fun. The award you get for finishing all ten races in the series is the "Road Warrior". I will be going for my third "Road Warrior" trophy.
Another reason I picked this song is because I am starting a new battle with my weight. I really haven't been trying lately. I let myself go when I was dealing with my tendinitis. I couldn't run for a couple months and I really didn't do the things I needed to do that I could have been doing. I couldn't run so I just kinda shut down mentally and just ate and ate and ate and...... I did get a pretty good bit done lifting weights but not like I wanted. And to be honest the weight issue had been creeping up on me for a while.
Finally I had enough.
I knew there was only one person that could help me. Only one person who could help get me to my goals. This person is a true "WARRIOR". I decided I needed to go to Kate Richards for help.
Kate is AMAZING! If you are a member at the Millington YMCA you already know that. I went to her and told her I need a personal trainer and she is the one person I trust to help me. She was excited to help and started to work on a plan. The first workout was rough. I had just come off vacation and before that I wasn't exactly pushing myself. But when I saw that crazed look in her eyes that she was gonna push me and that she believed in me I knew I had the perfect person to get me where I want to be.
I want to be a WARRIOR!
One more reason I picked this song is because it is a great song to add to your workout playlist.
Enjoy!

You can’t hide now
I am the warrior
So decide now
How they’ll remember you
Do not hide now
Act like a warrior
Show your pride now
Solidify your place in time
